When Dimeo Construction embarked on converting an old Sears department store into a state-of-the-art casino for Mint Gaming, they turned to us for the precise data necessary tonavigate the challenges of outdated structural blueprints and complex design requirements.
Outdated Documentation: Original blueprints lacked updates for undocumented modifications over time, making them unreliable for design and construction.
Precise Structural Requirements: Following demolition, exposed structural steel required detailed measurement, especially at connection points, to ensure accurate fabrication of new steel elements.
Comprehensive VDC Support: Accurate existing conditions models were essential for Dimeo’s VDC team and their MEP-FP subcontractors to conduct clash detection and ensure smooth integration of systems.
As-Built Documentation: The project demanded as-built 3D documentation for final delivery, further emphasizing the need for precision and reliability.
Post-Demolition Reality Capture: We conducted detailed LiDAR scans of the exposed steel framework, capturing every detail and generating a highly accurate point cloud for design and analysis.
Cintoo Platform Integration: The point cloud was hosted on Cintoo, enabling American Steel Fabricators to measure and annotate remotely, streamlining the drafting process and reducing errors.
Advanced QAQC Process: Using the Cintoo platform, we rigorously verified the 3DRevit models against the point cloud, identifying and correcting inaccuracies to deliver precise results.
Revit Model for VDC and Documentation: We provided an LOD 300 Revit model, supporting Dimeo’s VDC team and MEP-FP subcontractors in clash detection and coordination, while also serving as the foundation for final as-built documentation.
Accurate Fabrication: ASF utilized precise point cloud data to design and fabricate steel elements that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure.
Streamlined VDC Coordination: The Revit model enabled effective clash detection and analysis, minimizing construction conflicts and ensuring system compatibility.
Cost-Effective Efficiency: Accurate data reduced drafting time, fabrication errors,and installation risks, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
Comprehensive As-Built Records: The final Revit model delivered by us ensured that Dimeo met their documentation requirements with precision and confidence.
