The Project

OAR partnered with The Turner Group to evaluate the structural integrity of the Libby Museum of Natural History in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Built in 1912, the historic building showed signs of wall bowing during a 2014 scan, raising concerns about potential structural deterioration. The Turner Group needed precise, actionable data to monitor changes over time and guide preservation efforts.

The project required protecting the architectural integrity of a century-old museum while identifying real structural risk. The Turner Group needed to assess whether the wall bowing observed in 2014 had worsened over the following decade, and needed high-accuracy data that manual measurement couldn’t achieve to support confident, data-driven decision-making about preservation.
